Lettera del Governatore, novembre 2022
Carissime Amiche ed Amici,
nel momento in cui vi scrivo abbiamo appena completato la cinquantanovesima vista del Governatore.
L’entusiasmo, la gioia e l’affetto che riceviamo giornalmente ci rendono consapevoli del lavoro svolto e, in queste occasioni, abbiamo avuto la possibilità di partecipare allo svolgimento di Service concreti.
Abbiamo trovato Club propositivi, appassionati ed operosi, con i Presidenti e i soci allineati ai principi fondamentali del nostro Rotary ovvero “Servire al di sopra di ogni interesse personale” le nostre comunità con il sorriso, serenità e competenza.
Numerose sono state le inaugurazioni delle Case di Paul Harris, contrassegnate dallo stesso fine ultimo di sostenere le comunità locali, con il nostro network rotariano, attraverso la generosità dei soci che con le loro competenze e professionalità si spenderanno in favore dei bisognosi.
Quasi la totalità dei District Grants sono in fase avanzata ed entro il mese di novembre avremo la formalizzazione dei Global Grants immaginati per contribuire al progresso socio/culturale dei nostri territori.
Durante la giornata “End Polio Now” numerosissime sono state le manifestazioni di sensibilizzazione e di raccolta fondi svolte dai Club in tutto il territorio distrettuale, documentati negli articoli a seguire.
Anche il progetto distrettuale Word Polio Day “Un caffè sospeso contro la polio”, per proteggere tutti i bambini del mondo, ha avuto ampia diffusione e successo. La raccolta fondi ottenuta permetterà al nostro Distretto, tramite tutti i Club, di continuare la lotta alla polio in maniera significativa.
Come da tradizione, ogni anno il Rotary International dedica il mese di novembre alla Rotary Foundation. È un’iniziativa volta a sensibilizzare i Club e tutti i Rotariani sull’importanza della Fondazione, perché essa costituisce lo strumento operativo che finanzia e sostiene l’azione umanitaria locale e globale del Rotary: dalla trentennale campagna Polio Plus, per l’eradicazione della poliomielite, alle Borse della pace, alle Sovvenzioni e alle Borse di studio postlaurea promosse dai Club Rotary.
Il nostro Distretto lo celebrerà, oltre a tutte le attività promosse dai Club, giorno 12 novembre con il Seminario Distrettuale sulla Rotary Foundation presso l’Hotel Federico II di Enna; avremo la possibilità di presentare i progetti sovvenzionati ed in itinere e progettare il nostro futuro. Ringrazio anticipatamente i soci che parteciperanno alla manifestazione e, ancora una volta, avremo esaurito i posti disponibili. Grazie, Grazie, Grazie!
Quest’anno, la Settimana mondiale Interact (31 ottobre – 6 novembre) segna i 60 anni dalla fondazione del primo club Interact. Siamo orgogliosi dei nostri ragazzi per la vitalità, l’impegno, la concretezza delle loro azioni; questo è il momento per farci sentire ancora di più al loro fianco. I Club che patrocinano un Interact troveranno certamente il modo di festeggiarli e colgo l’occasione per ringraziare i Club che hanno, in questi mesi, costituito nuovi Interact entrando a far parte di questa meravigliosa avventura.

Governor’s letter November 2022
My dearest Friends – Women and Men,
At the time of writing to you, we have just completed the Governor’s fifty-ninth visit.
The enthusiasm, joy and affection, we daily receive, make us aware of the work done and on these occasions we had the opportunity to participate in the performance of real Services.
We found purposeful clubs, with their Presidents.
and members, aligned with the core principles of our Rotary: “Service above self” our communities, with a smile, serenity and competence.
There were numerous inaugurations of Paul Harris Houses, marked by the same ultimate goal of supporting local communities, through the generosity of the members, who, through our Rotarian network, with their skills and professionalism, will devote themselves, in favor of the needy.
Almost all District Grants are at an advanced stage and, within the month of November, we will have the formalization of the Global Grants, imagined to contribute the socio/ cultural progress of our territories.
During the day for End Polio Now , there were numerous awareness and fundraising events held by Clubs, throughout the District territory ; you will find the articles below.
The district World Polio Day project – ‘A coffee suspended against polio’- to protect all the children in the world, has also been widely disseminated and successful. The fundraising obtained will allow our District , through all Clubs, to continue the fight against polio in a meaningful way.
In addition, every year, Rotary International dedicates the month of November to Rotary Foundation. It is an initiative aimed at raising awareness among Clubs and all Rotarians of the importance of the Foundation, because it is the operational tool that financs and supports Rotary local and global humanitarian action: from the thirty-year Polio Plus campaign for the eradication of Polio, to Peace grants,
post-graduate Grants and Scholarships, sponsored by Rotary Clubs.
Our District will celebrate that day, in addition to all the activities sponsored by Clubs, on November 12, with the District Seminar at the Federico II Hotel, in Enna; we will have the opportunity to present subsidized and ongoing projects and to plan our future. I thank, in advance, the members that will participate in the event and, once again, we will exhaust places available. Thanks! Thanks! Thanks!
This year, the World Interact Week (October 31 – November 6) marks 60 years from the Foundation of the first Interact Club. Our young people are giving us enormous satisfaction for the vitality, commitment and concreteness of their actions; this is the moment to make us feel, even more, at their side. The Clubs sponsoring an Interact, will certainly find a way to celebrate them; I take this opportunity to thank the Clubs that have set up new Interact Clubs, in recent months, becoming part of this wonderful adventure.
